Stumble came from a personal frustration. Going out with my partner and walking past the same chains because we didn't know what was around. Wellington has an incredible café culture — tight laneways, hidden spots, places run by people who genuinely love what they do. But finding them felt like luck.
So I decided to build something that made that luck a little more reliable. A place specifically for Wellington, built around actually discovering what this city has to offer.

The name came from that. Stumble. Not searching, not filtering, not optimising — just wandering with a bit of help. Finding something real.
But there's a second reason Stumble exists. A flat white from an independent café costs about the same as one from a chain — but the chain has an app for ordering, a loyalty program, and a marketing budget. The local place has a handwritten menu and a good Instagram. That gap shouldn't exist. Stumble is one way to close it.
